Ikang Guobin builds a healthy full management model: Q2 net profit of $11.6 million

On December 1, Ikang Guobin released the company's unaudited financial report for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015. According to the financial report, Aikang Guobin’s second-quarter net revenue was US$98.6 million, an increase of 23.9% from the same period of the previous year; net profit attributable to the company was US$11.6 million, a decrease of 24.9% from the same period of the previous year.

Summary of the second quarter results:

Aikang Guobin’s second-quarter net revenue was $98.6 million, an increase of 23.9% from $79.6 million in the same period last year. As of September 30, 2015, there were 77 medical centers owned by Ikang Guobin, compared with 50 in the same period last year. Aikang Guobin served approximately 1,245,000 corporate and individual customers in the second quarter, up 27.4% year-on-year.

Aikang Guobin’s second-quarter experience business’s net revenue was $83.6 million, an increase of 22.4% from $68.3 million in the same period last year; the disease diagnosis business’s net revenue was $7 million, up from $5.3 million in the same period last year. 33.5%; net revenue for dental services was $1.6 million, an increase of 109.8% from $0.7 million in the same period last year; net income from other services was $6.4 million, an increase of 20.8% from $5.3 million in the same period last year. This is due to the growth in outpatient service revenue, medical consulting services and other medical services revenue growth.

In the second quarter of the year, Aikang Guobin’s revenue was $53.2 million, an increase of 40.9% from $37.7 million in the same period last year.

Aikang Guobin’s second-quarter gross profit was $45.5 million, an increase of 8.6% from $41.9 million in the same period last year; gross profit margin was 46.1%, compared to 52.6% in the same period last year.

ICON's second-quarter total operating expenses were $29.5 million, an increase of 41.6% from $20.8 million in the same period last year. Among them, sales and marketing expenses were $14.5 million; general and administrative expenses were $14.1 million; and research and development expenses were $961,000.
