Monstera cultivation and reproduction

Araceae herbaceous perennial.

There are more than 20 species of plants belonging to the genus Monstera, which is native to tropical America. After the stem is elongated, it is vine-like, and it can grow with other things. The leaves are heart-shaped or skewed, long oval, full or pinnate, with irregular holes in the leaves, resembling artificial cuts and beautification. It is extremely peculiar and lovely. The flowering buds of the flowering plants can also be bred after flowering. Such plants are evergreen in all seasons, with odd-shaped leaves and strong negative resistance. They can be cultivated in shaded pots or gardens, and the leaves can be used as flower materials.

Breeding: Available sowing or cutting method, but the cuttings mainly spring to summer is appropriate. Cut the top of the stem with leaves or stem segments, cut into the river sand or fine snake wood chips, keep moist, accept about 50% to 60% of sunshine, about 30 to 40 days to make hair roots. Potted plants can be erected in the center of a large basin with a snake wood column, and then cut several branches of the top of the stem, close to the snake wood column directly into the culture soil, keep the shade moist, until the hair roots can be attached to the growth of the column.

Cultivation focus: cultivation with organic-rich leafy or sandy loam is best, and drainage needs to be smooth. Cultivation areas should be shaded, with about 50% to 60% of sunshine, avoid strong direct sunlight. Top dressing can be organic fertilizer or nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, applied once every 1 to 2 months, nitrogen fertilizer is more, can promote leaf color appearance. Culture soil is always suitable for moist, high air humidity is conducive to growth. If you want to grow stalks quickly, you can gently trim the lower aging leaves. Sexual heat and humidity, birth temperature of about 20 ~ 28 °C. Outdoor cultivation cold invasion, when the temperature is below 13 °C, try to avoid watering or wetting the leaves in the evening to prevent frostbite.
