Nestlé develops medical products for allergies at $145 million

Nestle Health Science, a subsidiary of Swiss food giant Nestle, recently announced that it will invest $145 million in Aimmune Therapeutics, a US food allergy research company, to expand its food health.

Nestle Group in January this year announced that it will shift the focus of the health services industry, in June appointed the German company Fresenius Medical Care's former CEO Ulf Mark Schneider as the new CEO, subsequently launched a series of related acquisitions.

Analysts believe that investing in Aimmune Therapeutics is significant for Nestlé's position as the world's largest packaged food company. Kepler Cheuvreux analyst Jon Cox said that Nestlé is very concerned about the allergy food industry, and the company is reluctant to see that its specific packaged foods will have a serious impact on consumers' health.
