China's fake aspirin into Europe's largest counterfeit drug case

French customs officials seized 1.2 million fake aspirin from China. Allegedly, this is the largest counterfeit drug case that has been uncovered by France and the European Union.

The French Ministry of Economic Affairs issued a statement on the 25th that French customs officials seized this counterfeit medicine in Le Havre, a port city in the northwest of the country, on May 17.

According to reports, the fake drugs were hidden in a tea container from China. Most of this aspirin powder is glucose and does not contain active ingredients.

The French Ministry of Economic Affairs stated that the counterfeit drugs will be sent to a Spanish company headquartered in the Balearic Islands and will be sold in the Iberian Peninsula, southern France and the French-speaking African region.
