Enshi's annual average temperature is 16.3°C, frost-free period is 280 days, and tea growth and development period is 247 days above 10°C. Effective accumulated temperature is 5171°C. Changde is near 29 degrees north latitude, with an annual rainfall of 1,200 to 1,600 mm, and is mostly concentrated in the 3 to 9 months of tea plant growth and development.
Soil, topography
The areas of yellow brown soil, red soil, yellow soil and acid purple soil are large in the soil, and the parent rocks are mostly gneiss, sandstone, shale, slate, and granite. The pH is mostly between 4.5 and 6.5. Without any industrial pollution, it is rich in necessary trace elements such as zinc and selenium. The formation and accumulation of nutrients in the tea tree is regarded as a natural "green treasure house" for tea growth.
Yixing tea is produced in the Wuling Mountains and Daba Mountains. It is the most widely distributed in the Wuling Mountain area, with a peak of 2,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level. The distribution of tea trees is mainly in the low and half-high mountains between 300 and 1000 meters above sea level. The production area of ​​high-quality black tea should be between 400m and 1000m above sea level, such as the collection of flowers at Wufeng, Dengcun at Yichang, and the run of Hefeng.
