The study of 14 surgical inpatients underwent simulated thoracic catheterization and bronchoscopy. Residents using Google Glass used an operating room monitor to reduce 88%, but found that simulated oxygen saturation was 8.0 seconds earlier than the control doctor. In tracheal replacement, the time spent simulating hypotension was found to be 10.5 seconds earlier than the control group.
After the trial, 64% of the participants agreed or strongly agreed that Google Glass increased their environmental awareness, 88% found that glasses helped them monitor vital signs, 93% thought he was easy to use, and 85% Said it can improve the safety of patients. Vital Medicals said the study has not yet been published.
This is not the first time Stanford has been involved in Google Glass. In July of this year, the School of Cardiothoracic Surgery used the software training period of the Google glasses app developer CrowdOptic to conduct a thoracic heart surgery.
