Nepeta has strong adaptability, likes sunshine, and grows in a warm and humid environment. It does not require strict soil, and it can grow in general soil. However, it grows better in loose and fertile soil, and it is afraid of high temperature and rainy season. Water, short-term water will cause death. Seeds are easy to germinate, germination is not strict with the temperature requirements, the seeds can germinate at 15~20°C, the optimum temperature for growth is 20~25°C, and the seedlings can tolerate low temperatures around 0°C. Nepeta is tolerant to high temperatures and relatively cold-resistant, but freezing damage will occur below -2°C and avoid continuous cropping.

The emergence of Nepeta requires soil moisture, fear of drought and lack of water. When the seedlings grow in a dry and dry environment, the rain will grow poorly.

Production in Xinjiang, Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Shanxi, Shandong, Hubei, Guizhou, Sichuan and Yunnan; from Central and Southern Europe through Afghanistan, has been distributed to Japan to the east, in the Americas and southern Africa to the wild. Model specimens were taken from Europe.

Artificial cultivation mainly produces Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hebei and other places.
